I guess Barack Obama is human after all. He went into Wednesday evening’s press conference with the goal of convincing the American public that a massive government overhaul of the U.S. health care system is a good idea. He failed.
Instead, he stepped on a political land mine when he weighed in on the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Gates. Obama and his political team had to know that he’d get that question. Yours truly even knew it. When asked about the arrest, Obama should have said: “I’m not going to comment on a local law enforcement matter.” But he didn’t.
