Obama Advisor Anita Dunn: Mao “My Favorite Political Philosopher”

Posted by Tom Skypek

Wow, Anita Dunn is on fire.  In fact, she’s shaping up to be the next Van Jones–radical leftist turned Obama staffer turned political liability.  First, she trashed Fox News and now we find out that Mao Tse Tung is one of her favorite political philosophers.  Historians estimate that Mao killed between 50 and 70 million people–yet Dunn, who serves as the White House Communications Director, groups him in the same category as Mother Teresa.  People with views like this should not be serving in the United States government because they are fundamentally at odds with the principles outlined in the U.S. Constitution.  Her attack on Fox News is tantamount to an attack on the First Amendment.  Fox News is obviously a legitimate business organization.  They consistently demolish their competitors when it comes to ratings (check out the latest ratings here).  The White House does itself a disservice when it trashes Fox News. Yes, Fox News is the preferred news outlet for many conservatives and Republicans (including yours truly), but a significant number of independents watch Fox News. It’s one thing for liberal bloggers and activists to attack Fox News, but for the White House to do it is just plain creepy in the Big Brother, Orwellian sense of the word. Does Fox News employ sycophant “journalists” like those at CNN, NBC, ABC, or CBS?  No.

Listen to her romanticize Mao’s Communist takeover of China:

Are you kidding me?  Mao was a Communist dictator who killed millions and millions of people just because they didn’t agree with him. Her reverence for Mao is downright bizarre.  I’m surprised she didn’t sing Che’s praises, too, or Uncle Joe’s or Pol Pot’s.  I can’t believe we have people like this working in the United States government.  Elections have consequences and we’re all witnessing this first hand.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen Glenn Beck; I don’t have cable and I’ve never bothered to watch him on YouTube. He gets worked up, doesn’t he?

Anita Dunn should stop referring to Mao as one of her favorite political philosophers. In fact, she should probably stop referring to Mao, period. She could gave that same sermon without reference to Mao or, for that matter, Mother Theresa.

As for Beck’s thesis that the Obama White House is a nest of radicals and revolutionaries, it’s risible. Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, James Jones et al. are not radicals, not even close, not even anywhere in the ballpark. I wonder what would happen to Glenn Beck if he ever encountered some real radicals or revolutionaries. The shock would probably render him speechless.

Correction: I see he’s on Fox, not cable. I had just never bothered to watch.

    Maybe you should!
