   Note that Petraus says military objectives of the surge has worked. None of the politicl ones so in a sense both statements are true. As for Anbar province. That is a disaster waiting to re-happen but won’t bore you with the details..What happened to the surge goal of reducing the need for US forces to stay? Still have more troops than before the Surge which was declared over last month. (Of course those lucky lads get to go to Afghanistan our other success story).
